A traditional pub with a long and proud record of supporting local farmers.
All Rachels home cooked food ingredients are locally sourced.
Once people discover the Waggon & Horses at Langsett they are hooked on this cosy non-pretentious inn on the edge of the Peak District moors. Its a place to enjoy traditional food, great beers and carefully chosen wine. This old fashioned pub is a hands-on family business passed down through the generations and now conserved by mum and son combination, Rachel and Jerald. Famed for it's baking, shortcrust pastry, soups, sweets and consistent good quality.
The inn is well known for freshly prepared food, real ale and a real fire. With grand views from the garden overlooking Langsett reservoir and the Pennine moors. This comfortable and relaxing inn, built in 2 parts, the first in the 17 century and the second in 1809 of Yorkshire stone, is a Grade II listed building and set in a most scenic and attractive location. We pride ourself on our good character, friendly service and of course traditional country pub ambience - a welcoming bar, we don't have any fruit machines or piped music, we prefer a good pint, homely food and the hum of conversation.... a real pub.
Many good walks can be had from Langsett - short or long, there's always a good pint to be had back at the Inn.
